So far I've been coasting on my own research and analytical skills in the formatting of my scripts. I've looked at countless websites, templates, and sides. But yesterday I decided to bite the bullet and buy a few TV writing books. It's too late to help my pilot with them: for that I'm just praying someone is curious enough to call or email me for more information! I hope they help my future writing immensely, however. I seem to be learning so much every day and I'm trying hard not to punish myself for information I'm picking up only AFTER my pilot has been submitted. I should be simply proud that I got it out and it didn't utterly stink!
One of my favorite sites has turned out to be Jane Espenson's blog. She's insightful, experienced and humorous and I feel that I've picked up so much information already... and I've only read the first 2 months of her archive.

I think I'm Finally Happy
...with my blog look at least.
This template obsession, combined with a random audit at work (yay government paper pushers!) has kept me pleasantly distracted from screwing with my tv script. I think I'll stick with this template now that I have performed a few minor tweaks on it. I'm still messing with link accent colors but overall I think I like it.

Templates Templates - still driving me nuts
This isn't my first post about this. I'm still utterly unsatisfied with my template choices. I'm about the make the choice to make my own. I've been highly resistant to this thus far, for both sanity and time's sakes. My Bones blog is for the readers, this blog is for me. I want this blog to properly reflect me and the closest one I can find just doesn't quite sit right. At the time of this writing I am using this one, which while pretty is only me on certain days and not at all what I want to convey here.

To pick a theme...
Picking a template/theme on my Bones blog was easy. As it deals with professional content it is best to keep the layout clean and simple. But here...this is more like my surroundings, my virtual home. I want it to reflect me. Only I can't find a good 'mirror' out there, so to speak.
I like old things - old farm buildings, old pictures, old cars. Anything with a fantastic vintage feel. I like flowers of all kinds. I like quilts, old styles of dress from turn of the century through the 50s, old leather bound books...you'd think with such broad ideas it would be easy to find something.
Nope.
I have flipped this template many times. I've tried this one, this one, this one, this one and this one. Likely as not, you're looking at one of those right now. I find her templates to be creative and of high importance - they don't break important parts of the blog. Some do. So I'm leery where I find templates because of just that reason.
Why not make my own? See I have this problem. I WRITE. A lot. I write for my novel, I write for my TV script, I write for this blog, and this blog, and I write comments here and emails to this guy and chat with this person. I have no patience left for painstaking image work and composition.
There is no point to this other than to look each at rock and hard place and congratulate them on a job well done.

Distractions
I'm having far too much fun on my Bones blog. I did manage to write a new chapter to my fanfic last night and the next is half written. Eventually I'll finish that thing and be able to have one less thing distracting me from my book!

My favorite blogs...
Blogs have been my dirty little habit for some time now and I range far and wide. From the sailor-mouthed infertile, to the David Boreanaz obsession , and again (c'mon, someone make one devoted just to him and I'll love you forever. On second thought...that would quickly turn creepy and wrong) and the gobbling of celebrity drivel.I get around. I read about Lost, a gamer girl playing a creepy male gnome, and everyone else's dirty secrets.
Unsatisfied with even that rapacious bit of consumption I have now decided to jump into the fray myself. I am currently writing a novel. It's my first and I'm sure I will have many stumbles along the way. Come, grab a glass of iced tea and laugh at my expense!

# Pieces Written
Scripts - 3
4 if you count re-writing Sleeping Beauty, Hillbilly-style, in High School
Novels- 1 + .1 + .7
Can I count my 14 or so mentally composted story ideas? No? Drat.
Short Stories - 2
I'll say two officially, so far (one of those still needs to be typed up)... I lost at least 2 of my old ones and I've wiped the slate clean.
Poems- 3...4? 42?
I won awards for 3. After that I lost count.
